2 Flowery Branch city council incumbents face challengers in Nov. 3 election

With no new qualifiers Friday, the Nov. 3 city council elections in Flowery Branch and Gillsville are set.

Flowery Branch Post 2 incumbent Mary Jones faces challenger Mark Wilson, and Post 1 incumbent Chris Mundy faces Michael Justice.

In Gillsville, just one person qualified for each council post. Gregory Richard Ferguson will hold onto his post 4 seat, and Jeffery Todd Dale will keep Post 3. For Post 5, Samuel Wade Dale qualified for the seat currently held by Rudess Hooper.

Elections will be held in cities where there are contested races, including Flowery Branch, Gainesville, Lula, Oakwood and Clermont. Qualifying ended Wednesday for most cities in Hall.
