A Gainesville couple are in custody after Hall County authorities linked them to a string of residential burglaries in South Hall.
Keith Sylvester Evans, 35, and his live-in girlfriend Johnna Lee Rayman, 26, are in the Hall County Jail with no bond on multiple charges.
According to a news release from the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, investigators interviewed Evans and learned he was responsible for at least four residential burglaries.
Additionally, investigators said the couple had their 7-month-old child present during the burglaries. The child is now in the custody of the Department of Family and Children Services.
According to spokeswoman Deputy Nicole Bailes, the four burglary locations Evans is allegedly responsible for are along T Mor Cove in Oakwood, Browns Bridge Road, Holiday Heights Drive in Oakwood and Lantern Drive, a little bit closer to Gainesville.
“The two were taking mostly electronics,” she wrote via email. “(For example), flat screen televisions, tablets, laptops.”
Evans has been charged with four counts of first-degree burglary, child cruelty in the second degree, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a drug-related object and a state court probation warrant.
Rayman is charged with one count of burglary and child cruelty in the second degree. A hold has also been placed on Rayman from Gwinnett County in connection with an outstanding warrant.
Authorities said they believe the duo may be responsible for more burglaries; an investigation is ongoing.
