A man was killed in a two-car accident on Ga. 11 near Clermont on Tuesday morning when he turned into oncoming traffic while making a left turn, officials said.

Lewis Buster Wigington, 63, died at the scene after a car struck the passenger-side front corner panel, the Georgia State Patrol said.

The accident occurred at about 10:27 a.m. Tuesday on Ga. 11 two miles north of Clermont. Officials said Wigington failed to yield to oncoming traffic while making the turn.

The name of the driver of the other car was not immediately available. A report of the accident was incomplete and a state patrol operator did not have information on Wigington’s hometown, the make or model of either car or the intersection where the wreck occurred.
