Brianna Van Alstyne and Travis Torrey

Brianna Nicole Van Alstyne and Travis Zachary Torrey were united in marriage on Jan. 2, 2010, at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Gainesville. The bride is the daughter of Dean and June Van Alstyne of Lula. The groom is the son of Carmen and Sharon Torrey of Dawsonville.

The Rev. Charles Debardeleben performed the ceremony. Pianist Larry Barker and flutist Emmie Seals presented a program of wedding music.

The bride was presented in marriage by her father. The bride’s friend Laurie Markle of Arlington, Va., was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the groom’s sister Carmen Rae Torrey of Dawsonville and the bride’s friends Rebecca Ennis of Athens, Jenny Potts of Gainesville, Jeni Sathianathan of Lansing, Mich., Marsha Taylor of Augusta and Olivia Hight of Columbus. The bride’s friends Payton and Sarah Jeffrey of Atlanta were the flower girls.

The groom’s brother Patrick Torrey of Dawsonville was the best man. Groomsmen were the groom’s cousins, Zac Bonheim of Goode, Va., John Higgins of Belfast, Maine, and Ross Caron of Brooks, Maine, and the groom’s friends Michael Duggan of Macon, Tyler Debardeleben of Gainesville and Jordy Mckague of Dawsonville.

The bride’s veil and bouquet wrap were made of pieces of her grandmother’s wedding dress.

The bride’s parents gave a reception at Quinlan Arts Center in Gainesville following the ceremony.

Following a honeymoon to Estes Park, Colo., the couple reside in Atlanta.
