Jennifer Brooke Robinson and James “Jay” Emile Bates III were united in marriage at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 13, 2014, at the Robson Event Center in Gainesville. The bride is the daughter of Chip and Debbie Robinson of Buford. The groom is the son of Jeb and Rosemary Bates of Gainesville.

Tim Bailey performed the ceremony.

The bride’s friend Callie Darragh of Nashville, Tenn., was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were the groom’s sister Meredith Bates of Atlanta, and the bride’s friends Taylor Merritt of Bishop, Alison Boyd of Atlanta, Brianne Clayton of Dacula, Kristen Muirhead of Greenville, S.C., Erica Rhodes of Suwanee, Alexis Gruczkowski of Atlanta, Sara Johnson of Athens and Jessica Post of Marietta.

The groom’s father was the best man. Groomsmen were the groom’s brother Daniel Bates of Gainesville, the bride’s cousin Nick Bailey of Lawrenceville, and the groom’s friends Blake Adams of Gainesville, Brett Pittman of Gainesville, Victor Cooper of Atlanta, Tyler Averitt of Atlanta, Joe Cronmiller of Marietta, Stan Shubert of Gainesville, Casey Barnes of Candler, N.C., Josh Brownlee of Hiram and Grayson Godley of Watkinsville.

Following a honeymoon to Riviera Maya, Mexico, the couple reside in Braselton.
