Samantha Monique Phillips and Clayton Lee Cox Jr. were united in marriage at 6 p.m. June 4, 2016, at Hancock Park in Dahlonega. The bride is the daughter of Jeffery Kenneth Phillips of Jefferson and the late Cindy Renee Phillips. The groom is the son of Winter Lake Cox and Clayton Lee Cox Sr. of Gainesville.
The Rev. Dan M. McGill and Andy Nelson performed the ceremony. Guitarist Joel May presented a program of wedding music.
The bride was presented in marriage by her father. The bride’s cousin Cayla Crunkleton of Cumming was matron of honor. The bride’s sister Misty Phillips of Atlanta was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride’s friend Marilyn Chanthavisith of Demorest, groom’s sisters Ashley Cox of Charlotte, N.C., Victoria Cox of Birmingham, Ala., Anneliese Jones of Gainesville, and bride’s cousin, Heather Elrod of Alto.
The groom’s father Clayton Cox Sr. of Gainesville was the best man. Groomsmen were the groom’s cousins Gray Barnes of Macon, Miss., and Sean Myer of Edmond, Okla., groom’s brother-in-law Corey Jones of Gainesville, and groom’s friends Tyler Love, Blake Dunlap, Tyler Harney and Tyler Dunn, all of Gainesville.
The bride carried a picture of her mother.
The groom’s parents gave a rehearsal dinner at The Smith House in Dahlonega on the eve of the wedding.
The bride’s and groom’s parents gave a reception at Dahlonega Marketplace in Dahlonega following the ceremony.
Following a honeymoon to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, the couple reside in Gainesville.
