Dr. Michelle Ann Osborn and Dr. Gregory Jonathan Harmsworth Deacon were united in marriage at 6 p.m. Aug. 10, 2013, in The Chapel at American Village in Montevallo, Ala. The bride is the daughter of Dr. Janie Dyson Osborn of Hueytown, Ala., and the late Dr. Donald Keith Osborn. The groom is the son of Dr. David Jeremy Deacon and Mrs. Vanessa Harmsworth Deacon of Kessingland, England.

The Rev. Joseph Sandor Cheka III performed the ceremony. Pianist Mr. Chase Cooper and vocalist Ms. Conner Wayne Milam presented a program of wedding music.

The bride was presented in marriage by her mother. The bride’s cousin Mrs. Janie Allison Cheka of Birmingham, Ala., was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride’s cousins Ms. Merritt Lane Milam of Birmingham, Ala., and Ms. Conner Wayne Milam of Birmingham, Ala., and the bride’s friends Ms. Sarah Ethel Rubin of Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Joy Renee Evans of San Jose, Calif., and Mrs. Shannon McCullouch Miller of Houston, Texas. The bride’s niece Miss Ginger Callan Cheka of Birmingham, Ala., was the flower girl.

The groom’s best friend Mr. Guy Benjamin Hobbs of London, England, was the best man. Groom’s attendants were the groom’s friends Ms. Amber Jane Butchart of London, England, and Mr. Elijah Mbogo Muthii of Nairobi, Kenya.

Ms. Alene Gamel was the wedding coordinator.

The bride carried her parents’ wedding rings on her bouquet.

The groom’s parents gave a rehearsal dinner at Avondale Brewery in Birmingham, Ala., on the eve of the wedding.

The bride’s mother gave a reception at The Ballroom at the American Village in Montevallo, Ala., following the ceremony.

Following a short trip to Old Edwards Inn in Highlands, N.C., the couple will plan to take a longer honeymoon in the Caribbean in December. The couple will reside in Oxford, England.
