Thomas and Sara Dyer

Sara Lindsay Mitchell and Thomas William Dyer Jr., were united in marriage at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 27, 2008, at First Baptist Church in Gainesville. The bride is the daughter of Gregory E. and Barbara Mitchell of Gainesville. The groom is the son of Zoe Dyer of Topsail Beach, N.C., and the late Tommy Dyer.

The Rev. William Coates performed the ceremony. Pianist Jeff Shaw, vocalist Ryan Conarro and trumpeter D.J. Brunson presented a program of wedding music.

The bride was presented in marriage by her father. The bride's friend Katie Murray of Augusta was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride's friend Erin Carrick of Augusta, the groom's sister Michelle Dyer of Columbia, S.C., and the bride's cousins Nicole Kniffin of O'Fallon, Ill., and Laura Wetherell of Champaign, Ill.

The groom's friend Clark Oliver of Gainesville was the best man. Groomsmen were the groom's friends Matt Farmer of Murrayville and Wes Hall of Gainesville, and the bride's brother Matthew Mitchell of Gainesville. Ushers were Zack Tumlin, Brian Neff and Kyle Short.

Julie Gheesling was the wedding coordinator.

The groom's mother gave a rehearsal dinner at The Arts Council's Smithgall Arts Center in Gainesville on the eve of the wedding.

The bride's parents gave a reception at Royal Lakes Golf and Country Club in Flowery Branch following the ceremony.

Following a honeymoon to Negril, Jamaica, the couple reside in Grovetown.
