James and Gerran Syfan

Miss Gerran Nicole Gilmer and Mr. James Daniel Syfan Jr. were united in marriage at 7 p.m. July 11, 2008, at the bride's parent's residence. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reece Gilmer of Lula. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Danny Syfan of Gainesville.

Judge Rick Story performed the ceremony. A string ensemble presented a program of wedding music.

The bride was presented in marriage by her father. The bride's cousin Miss Danibeth Thomas of Lula was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride's friends Miss Michelle Dyer of Columbia, S.C., Mrs. Maggie Gilstrap of Athens, Mrs. Melanie Hill of Cleveland, Mrs. Stacie Mroz of Chicago and the groom's sister Miss Mary Frances Syfan of Columbia.

The groom's father was the best man. Groomsmen were the groom's friends Mr. Alexander Branch of Atlanta, Mr. Brandon Lovering of Bainbridge and Mr. Eric Smithson of Gainesville, the groom's brother Mr. Garrett Syfan of Breckenridge, Colo., and the bride's cousin Mr. Andy Thomas of Lula. Honorary attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Jason Smith of Gainesville.

Mr. Christopher Davidson was the wedding coordinator.

The bride wore a diamond horseshoe pendant borrowed from the groom's godmother and carried a piece of her baby blanket in her bouquet and a handkerchief that was given to her by her grandmother.

The groom's parents gave a rehearsal dinner at Poor Richard's Restaurant on the eve of the wedding.

The bride's parents gave a reception at their residence following the ceremony.

Following a honeymoon to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, the couple reside in Gainesville.
