Mrs. Ivy Marion Kacos

Ivy Marion Frierson and Benjamin Mark Kacos were united in marriage at 6 p.m. May 8, 2010, at First Presbyterian Church in Shreveport, La. The bride is the daughter of George Archer II and Ivy Hedgcock Frierson of Shreveport. The groom is the son of Mark Stephen and Eve Wilheit Kacos of St. Simons Island.

The Revs. Pendleton Peevy and Bryan McDowell performed the ceremony.

The bride was presented in marriage by her father. The bride’s sister-in-law Tricia Davis Frierson of Shreveport was matron of honor. The bride’s sister Elizabeth Basinger Frierson of Shreveport was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride’s friends Lauren Glass Etier, Eleanor Colt Burke, Laura Gray Teekell, all of Shreveport, the bride’s cousin Mary Helen Frierson Smith of Atlanta, the groom’s sister Julia Eve Kacos of St. Simons Island, the bride’s friends Melissa Rose Stock of Jackson, N.Y., and Sarah Elizabeth Kilby of Brooklyn N.Y. The bride’s nieces Ivy Rebecca and Claire Nicholson Frierson of Shreveport were the flower girls.

The groom’s brother John Wilheit Kacos of St. Simons Island was the best man. Groomsmen were the groom’s friends William Munro Frazier of St. Simons Island, James Leonard Pate IV of Sullivan’s Island, S.C., Edward Douglas Puckett IV of Augusta, James Lloyd Williams of Charleston, S.C., the bride’s brothers George Archer Frierson III, Roswell Bratton Frierson and Allen Nicholson Frierson, all of Shreveport, and the groom’s friend Alistair Morgan of Cheltenham, England, U.K. Ushers were Baker Coleman Dickson and James Scott Seaman, both of St. Simons Island.

The groom’s parents gave a rehearsal dinner at The Shreveport Club in Shreveport on the eve of the wedding.

The bride’s parents gave a reception at Frierson Plantation in Shreveport following the ceremony.

Following a honeymoon to St. Lucia, the couple reside in Augusta.
