Katherine Marie Dunn and Walter Hammond Smith were united in marriage at 4:45 p.m. June 20, 2009, at Fred W. Symmes Chapel in Cedar Mountain, N.C. The bride is the daughter of Mark and Claire Dunn of Flowery Branch. The groom is the son of Teresa Smith Johnston of Oakwood and Walter S. Smith of Gainesville.

The Rev. J. Michael Pinson performed the ceremony. Guitarist Kallan Williams presented a program of wedding music.

The bride was presented in marriage by her father. The bride's sister Elizabeth Dunn of Flowery Branch was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride's friends Emily Carter of Clarkesville and Kaylee Jager of Flowery Branch.

The groom's brother Clayton Smith of Oakwood was the best man. Groomsmen were the groom's friends Allen Wheeler of Dallas, Texas, Jeremy Bishop of Sautee and Kallan Williams of Dawsonville.

The groom's parents gave a rehearsal dinner at Silvermont Mansion in Brevard, N.C., on the eve of the wedding.

The bride's parents gave a reception at Connestee Falls in Brevard, N.C., following the ceremony.

Following a honeymoon to Shenandoah National Park, Va., the couple reside in Flowery Branch and Tuscaloosa, Ala.
