Miss Heather Chapman and Mr. Preston Jack Skinner were united in marriage at 6 p.m. Aug. 16 2008, at Lakewood Baptist Church in Gainesville. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Charlene C. Praytor of Gainesville and Mr. Terrell W. Chapman of Gainesville. The groom is the son of Ms. Anita Kay Lawson and Mr. and Mrs. Jack L. Skinner, all of Gainesville.
The Rev. Thomas R. Smiley performed the ceremony. Pianist Mrs. Christa Anderson, vocalist Mr. Eric Elliot and guitarist Mr. Anthony Evans presented a program of wedding music.
The bride was presented in marriage by her parents. The bride's friend Miss Addie Jill Watson of Gainesville was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride's friends Miss Allison Claire Chase of Gainesville, Miss Laura Ann Dearth of Murrayville, and the groom's sister Mrs. Tina Skinner Landis of Gainesville. The groom's niece Miss Hallie Danielle Landis was the junior bridesmaid. The bride's niece Miss Alexandria Daé Noel Chapman of Roswell was the flower girl.
The groom's friend Mr. John Timothy McGill of Maysville was the best man. Groomsmen were the groom's father, the groom's stepbrother Mr. Jason Daniel Chester of Murrayville, and the bride's brother Mr. Terrell Keith Chapman of Roswell. The groom's nephew Mr. Hunter Drew Landis of Gainesville was the junior groomsman. The groom's nephew Mr. Jackson David Landis of Gainesville was the ring bearer. Ushers were Mr. Roger Jerome Parrish Jr., Mr. Stephen Bryan Cobb and Mr. Mark Lindsay Dawson.
Mr. Rudy Corn and Mrs. Judy Morris were the wedding coordinators. Mrs. Margaret Anne Bennett and Mrs. Suzanne Cobb were program attendants. Mrs. Amy Marisa Chester kept the bride's book.
The bride carried a gold ring that belonged to her late stepfather, Mr. James Jackson Praytor Jr., a silver ring that belonged to her friend the late Miss Cynthia Janice Philyaw, a four leaf clover that belonged to her late maternal grandfather and a piece of dried apple that belonged to her late paternal grandfather.
The groom's parents gave a rehearsal dinner in the Chestatee Room at The Gainesville Civic Center in Gainesville on the eve of the wedding.
The bride's parents gave a reception at The Arts Council's Smithgall Arts Center in Gainesville following the ceremony.
Following a honeymoon to St. Maarten and Netherlands Antilles in the Caribbean, the couple reside in Flowery Branch.
