Martha and Christopher Adams

Miss Martha Anne Post Casper and Mr. Christopher Kirk Adams were united in marriage March 17, 2012, at Legare Waring House at Charles Towne Landing State Historical Site in Charleston, S.C. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Richard Casper of Gainesville. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Exton Adams Jr. of Opelika, Ala.

The Rev. Charles Hurt Murphey III performed the ceremony. The Charleston Duo presented a program of wedding music.

The bride was presented in marriage by her father. The bride’s brothers Mr. Matthew Anderson Casper of New York, N.Y., and Mr. Mark Robert Casper of Athens, were the bride’s men. Bridesmaids were the bride’s sister-in-law Ms. Stuart Elizabeth Baldwin of New York, N.Y., bride’s friends Ms. Alexandra Lora Baxter of Atlanta, Mrs. Ansley Wallace Ghegan of Atlanta, Mrs. Catie Cole Haynes of Atlanta, Mrs. Miriam McDonald Metcalf of Atlanta, Ms. Elizabeth Johnson McHugh of Charlottesville, Va., Ms. Lindsay Woodruff Smith of Atlanta, Mrs. Katie Head Stewart of Atlanta, and Ms. Jennifer Renee Tommasello of Atlanta. The groom’s cousins Miss Adams Eleanor Howard and Miss Nolen Eliza Howard of Pawley’s Island, S.C., were the flower girls.

The groom’s father Mr. Phillip Exton Adams Jr. of Opelika, Ala., and groom’s brother Mr. Joshua Phillip Adams of Auburn, Ala., were the best men. Groomsmen were the groom’s friends Mr. Shaler Vincent Alias of Atlanta, Mr. Chris Vernon Beeker III of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Mr. Andrew Jay Carmines of Hilton Head Island, S.C., Mr. Graham Paul Carpenter of Atlanta, Mr. Richardson McConnell Freeman Jr. of Montgomery, Ala., Mr. Patrick Manning Kerney of Riverside, Conn., Mr. James Russell Parker IV of Richmond, Va., Mr. William Shepard Rose III of Hilton Head Island, S.C., Mr. Paul Jefferson Simmons of Auburn, Ala., Mr. Bronson Dubose Smith of Atlanta, Mr. John Caldwell Stewart of Atlanta, Mr. Joseph Robert Svoboda Jr., of Atlanta, and Mr. William Biggers Whatley IV of Auburn, Ala. The bride wore her mother’s bridal veil and carried a handkerchief from her baby bonnet, and a silver heart belonging to her maternal grandmother.

The groom’s parents gave a rehearsal dinner at Carolina Yacht Club in Charleston, S.C., on the eve of the wedding.

The bride’s parents gave a reception at Legare Waring House in Charleston, S.C., following the ceremony.

Following a honeymoon to Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay the couple reside in Atlanta.
