Latinos Conservative Organization is gearing up to feed families in Hall County from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Aug. 15.

People can pick up packages of dry goods — including canned food, rice and beans — at the Lighthouse Center, located at 175 John W Morrow Junior Parkway in Gainesville, across from Bruster’s Real Ice Cream.

Art Gallegos Jr., president of LCO, said families are asked to enter the property from the Rainey Street entrance and wait in their vehicles. Volunteers will hand-deliver the food. Gallegos said his goal with the food drive is to serve 300 families.

“It’s for everyone in the community, no matter who you are,” he said. “We’re hoping to have a great turnout.”

To volunteer for the event, contact Gallegos at 678-614-5011.
