GSO presents Holiday Pops concert Tuesday

Come sing along with the Gainesville Symphony Orchestra at it presents its annual Holiday Pops program at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Brenau University's Pearce Auditorium.

In a first-ever collaboration with the Gwinnett Choral Guild, the GSO will present 70 vocalists and their full 48-person symphony who guarantee an evening of fond Christmas memory making.

"This year we are reviving a holiday tradition," Candace Monnerie, executive director of the Gainesville Symphony Orchestra, said, "We will play all the traditional songs like ‘Sleigh Bells,' all the jingles people know."

The concert will be conducted by interim music director, Lauren Green, who led GSO's most recent "A Night at the Movies 2010" performance.

The audience will be invited to participate during the performance of the traditional holiday tunes.

General admission is $20 for adults, $8 for children and students with ID. Preferred seating is available and features an intermission reception with food catered by Scott's on the Square. Preferred seating tickets are $30 for adults, $27 for seniors. Children under the age of 5 are free.
