Emily Glaser of Demorest has been named to the President's List for fall semester at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Ala. Members of the list achieved a perfect 4.0 grade-point average.

Two students from Clarkesville, Jonathan Cantrell and Seth Hill, earned dean's list honors for earning all A's and B's for fall semester.

D. Leland Taylor was named to the student conduct council at Davidson College, He is the son of Ralph and Lisa Taylor of Gainesville and is a 2008 graduate of North Hall High School.

Heath Roper of Gainesville graduated from Reinhardt University in the fall semester of 2010.

Ethan B.Souther of Murrayville was named to the dean's list at Carson-Newman College for the fall 2010 semester.
To be named to the dean's list, a student must complete at least 12 credit hours of work and maintain a grade-point average of at least 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale.
