Marketing students recognized at international conference

Students from Chestatee, East Hall, Flowery Branch and the Lanier Charter Career Academy recently attended the International DECA Conference in Anaheim, Calif. More than 16,000 students from around the world competes in marketing-based events. The following students recevied awards: * Zack Alexander, LCCA and a sophomore at North Hall, Entrepreneurship Innovation Idea and top 20 percent in the nation. * Kevin Brown, a senior at LCCA, third place out of 123 teams, Financial Literacy Campaign where his team offered ongoing financial literacy training to students at LCCA during the past year; he also received a certificate of excellence for the top 20 percent in the nation. * Nicole Columbo, LCCA and a senior at North Hall, Creative Marketing Project and top 20 percent in the nation. * Haley Crain, a senior at Chestatee, graduated Leadership Development Academy. * Alexis Dellinger, a senior at Flowery Branch, graduated Senior Management Institute. * Kayla Dinkel, LCCA and a senior at Johnson, Community Service Project, received a certificate of excellence for the top 20 percent in the nation. * Kyle Erickson, a senior at Flowery Branch, $ 1,000 National DECA Scholarship – Publix. * William Espinoza, a senior at Flowery Branch, graduated Senior Management Institute. * Andrew Evans, a junior at East Hall, placed in the top 10 out of 141 teams in Entrepreneurship Written and received a certificate of excellence for top 20 percent in the nation. * Ellie Forrester, LCCA and a senior at North Hall, placed in the top 16 teams out of 142 teams, Public Relations Campaign for the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation where her team rebranded the organizations’ collateral materials and created new tools to increase public awareness of the organization across the state.
