Paul Hansen, curator of the Hamilton Gardens in Hiawassee, was honored for his community involvement and work of bringing science to the garden for Towns County Schools. The State Health Department, District 2, hosted a daylong symposium geared toward bringing more community awareness to organizations that promote wellness events in their region. Hamilton Gardens was the only recipient from Towns County and the only Botanical Garden to receive this award in District 2 which encompasses all 13 Northeast Georgia counties.
