Silvia Galvan Lopez of Mexico recently completed the process of becoming a United States citizen after taking classes at the First Baptist Church of Gainesville, completing the application for naturalization and passing the citizenship test in Atlanta. Her four young sons were given citizenship with their mother at the ceremony on May 4.
The Quinlan Visual Arts Center recently received Summer Art Camp scholarship funding throught he help of Publix Supermarkets Charities, Cargil Community Cares and the Jackson EMC Foundation Operation Round Up program. Funding will directly support the cost of supply fees, summer art camp scholarships and the expanded outreach into the community regarding Summer Art Camp programming for children.
