22 new child advocates from the Court Appointed Special Advocate Program who were sworn in Oct. 11 by Judge Cliff Jolliff.  CASA ensures that abused children entering the court have a right to a safe and permanent home.

The Colonel William Candler Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, installed five new members at their Oct. 13 meeting, bringing the membership count to 156. Chapter Regent Marcie Fletcher presented a program on "Native American Indian Code Talkers." In November the chapter will hold a silent auction for the members, and the proceeds will go to Project Patriot to assist active duty military.
