Haley Woodard of Lula recently won first place in Arena Race and Cloverleaf Race and second place in Stakes Race at the State 4-H Horse Show in Perry. In recognition of this accomplishment, Haley received Master status and will be recognized July 22 at the 4-H State Congress in Atlanta. In addition to ribbons, a trophy and a $500 scholarship, Haley will be competing at the 4-H Regional show in Clemson, S.C. this month.
Hall County Family Treatment Court Coordinator Kathy Norton recently received the Child Advocate Award in a presentation at the Georgia Bar Association in Atlanta. The award was given by the Juvenile Law Committee of the Young Lawyers’ Division of the State Bar of Georgia to recognize the contributions of outstanding attorneys and non-attorney advocates serving the needs of Georgia’s children, youth and families. Of the six award categories, Norton received the award for Deprivation, Non-Legal Advocate for meeting the needs of court-involved children.
