Gainesville students earn Microsoft certifications

One Gainesville High School student has been recognized as a Microsoft Office master, and 34 students at the school have earned at least one Microsoft Office Specialist certificate.

Kimberly Smith earned six certifications, including two expert level certifications.

Other students who earned certifications include Kevin Turcios, five; Christy Martinez, five; Janel Lampkin, five; Michael Contreras, five; Ella Vardeman, four; Iris Perez, three; Ann Nguyen, three; Krystal Sanchez, two; Jayla Willimas, two; Abigail Nelson; Armoni Sarpong; Beatriz Ura; Bella Gonzalez; Brenda Alvarado; Cameron Hayes; Daniel Gillespie; Gerado Zavala; Grace Keith; Charters Embry; Jennifer Medina; Jum Nguyen; Marco Sesmas; Meredith Pannek; Miguel Montoya; Pierceson Lint; Richard Castillo; Righteousness Williams; Roan Thompson; Royer Cano; Sadie Abernathy; Tapan Shah; Victoria Grier, and Yoana Cardenas.

Business classes at the school include the skills needed to receive the Microsoft credentials. The school is also an approved testing center, which allows the students to test on campus to earn their certification.

Teachers in the business program at the school include Donna Miller, Steve Wilson and Lorissa Crumley.

Regional events
