Area resident wins national award for apron presentation

Lynda Holmes, a member of the Col. William Candler Chapter in Gainesville of Daughters of the American Revolution, received the national first place award for drama in Washington, D.C., at the 2015 American Heritage Awards presentation on June 23. Her drama is “Exploring Our American Heritage With the Apron Mavens” and is based on research about apron history and her presentation of heirloom aprons.
