Dan and Karen Schaap of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Mary-Katherine Schaap to Jeremy David Skidmore, son of David and Debbie Skidmore of Gray.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of John and Betty Richardson of Gainesville and the late Jay and Jane Schapp.

She is a 2006 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2010 from Georgia College and State University with a bachelor's degree in music education. She is employed as a music teacher at North Georgia Christian School in Gainesville.

The groom-elect is a 2003 graduate of Jones County High School in Gray. He graduated in 2008 from Georgia College and State University with a bachelor's degree in music performance. He is employed as a music teacher at Morgan County Primary School in Madison.

The couple plan to wed June 4, 2011, at First Presbyterian Church in Gainesville.
