Danny and Mandy Roper of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Shaye Lindsey Roper to Jonathan Chase Wales, son of Eric and Dawn Wales of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Van and Lula Bella Ingram, and Dennis and Marcile Roper of Gainesville and the late Ella Roper.

She is a 2010 graduate of Gainesville High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2014 from the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega with a degree in early childhood and special education. She is employed as an office manager at Country Folks Superstore in Cumming.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Robert and Dot Stephens of Gainesville, and Ronnie Wales of Gainesville and the late Barbara Wales.

He is a 2008 graduate of East Hall High School in Gainesville. He graduated in 2014 from the University of North Georgia in Gainesville with a degree in business administration. He is employed as the co-owner of Country Folks Superstore in Cumming.

The couple plan to wed May 23, 2015, at Mayfield Baptist Church in Gainesville.
