Billy and Donna Kanady of Gillsville announce the engagement of their daughter Stephanie Dawn Kanady to Antony Mical Niave, son of Gloria Niave of Texarkana, Texas.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Wiley and Betty Miller of Lula, and the late Ozeal Jones of Gainesville.

She is a 2002 graduate of East Hall High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2006 from Wesleyan College with a bachelor's degree in international relations. She received a master's degree at Georgia Institute of Technology in 2007. She is employed as a legislative assistant at Locke Lord Strategies in Washington, D.C.

The groom-elect is a 1997 graduate of Texas High School in Texarkana and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He is employed as a director of telecommunications by White House Communications Agency in Washington, D.C.

The couple plan to wed Dec. 25, 2011, at the home of the bride's parents in Gillsville.
