Scotty R. and Colleen C. Jennings of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Whitney Dey Jennings to Joseph Steven DeLong, son of Marie Pettis of Gainesville and the late Joe Edwin DeLong.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Evelyn T. Cassity of Braselton, the late Woody G. Cassity, and the late Thomas H. and Ruby N. Jennings.

She is a 2005 graduate of Johnson High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2009 from North Georgia College & State University in Dahlonega with a bachelor's degree in business administration management. She is employed in technical support with National Auto Research-Black Book in Gainesville.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Eva Krauss of Zephyr Hills, Fla.

He is a 2002 graduate of Johnson High School in Gainesville. He will graduate in 2011 from North Georgia College & State University in Dahlonega with a bachelor's degree in business administration finance. He is employed as a distribution representative with Reach Technologies in Gainesville.

The couple plan to wed Oct. 15, 2011.
