Dr. Jay Hortenstine and Mrs. Sharon Hortenstine of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Ms. Emily Craig Hortenstine to Mr. Matthew Todd McDowell, son of Dr. David McDowell and Mrs. Kathryn McDowell of Lilburn. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. Clayton White and the late Mrs. Laverne White of Kingsport, Tenn., and Mrs. Faye Hortenstine and the late Dr. C.B. Hortenstine of Florence, Ala. She is a 2004 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville.
