Randal and Martha Hogan of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Carrie Ann Gowan to Bryan Andrew Garrison, son of Susan Ivey of Cleveland and Andrew Garrison of Cornelia.

She is a 2002 graduate of West Hall High School in Oakwood. She graduated in 2006 from the University of Georgia in Athens with a bachelor's degree in risk management and insurance. She is employed as a commercial marine underwriter with ACE USA in Roswell.

He is a 2001 graduate of Habersham Central High School in Clarkesville. He is employed as a merchandiser with Pepsi Bottling Group in Gainesville and is a reservist in the U.S. Army.

The couple plan to wed Sept. 19, 2009, at Magnolia Terrace in Helen.
