Joseph and Gloria Farrell of Lula announce the engagement of their daughter Kristy Margaret Farrell to Ryan Scott Henson, son of Jim and Maria Helton of Murphy, N.C., and Tony and Kathy Henson of Epworth.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Rudine Freeman of Douglasville, Nettie Farrell of Clemmons, N.C., the late Howard Freeman and the late Joseph and Margaret Farrell.

She is a 2000 graduate of Gainesville High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2004 from North Georgia College & State University in Dahlonega with a bachelor's degree in biology. She received a master's degree at North Georgia College & State University in physical therapy in 2007 and is pursuing a doctorate in physical therapy from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. She is employed as a physical therapist with North Fulton Regional Hospital in Roswell. She is a member of Delta Zeta sorority.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Bill and Irene Henson and Kenneth and Marie Satterfield, all of McCaysville.

He is a 2000 graduate of Fannin County High School in Blue Ridge. He is pursuing a bachelor's degree in middle grades education at North Georgia College & State University in Dahlonega. He is employed by Team Management Holdings in Epworth.

The couple plan to wed Sept. 20, 2008, at North Beach on Tybee Island.
