Jim and Elaine Curtis of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Celina Marie Curtis to Michael Dalen Phillips, son of Dale and Deborah Phillips of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Jim and Skip Curtis of Flowery Branch and Vernon Durham of Brooksville, Fla.

She is a 2005 graduate of Johnson High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2010 fromValdosta State University in Valdosta with a bachelor's degree in performance theatre. She is employed as a receptionist at Princeton Salon in Buford.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Lois Phillips of Flowery Branch and Marjorie Leach of Gainesville.

He is a 2005 graduate of Johnson High School in Gainesville. He is employed as a production material handler with Akzo Nobel Paints in Oakwood.

The couple plan to wed Aug. 20, 2011, at Hopewell Baptist Church in Gainesville.
