Garrison L. Sr. and Cynthia S. Cunningham of Oakwood announce the engagement of their daughter Kasia Nicole Cunningham to Cortni Deon Covington, son of Donald and Nobleine Covington of Birmingham, Ala.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Christine Long Broadnax and Johnnie M. Cunningham, both of Plant City, Fla., and the late Roland H. Broadnax and Garrison S. Cunningham Jr.

She is a 2003 graduate of West Hall High School in Oakwood. She graduated in 2007 from Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Ala., with a bachelor’s degree in business.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Jerry and Lula A. Harris and the late Robert Lou and Laurene Covington.

He is a 2003 graduate of Minor High School in Birmingham. He graduated in 2007 from Stillman College with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

The couple plan to wed Oct. 16, 2010, at St. John Baptist Church in Gainesville.
