Debra Gail Cronic of Oakwood and John Russell and Lorraine Cronic of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Samantha Grace Cronic to Brannon Boyd Humphries, son of Dan Humphries of Clarkesville and Marcie Humphries of Gainesville.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Lucille Simpson of Vidalia and the late Bernard Simpson, John and Doris Cronic of Clermont, and the step-granddaughter of Loretta Hooper of Belmont.
She is a 2006 graduate of White County High School in Cleveland. She graduated in 2011 from North Georgia College and State University in Dahlonega with a degree in early childhood education and special education. She received a master’s degree in 2013 at Piedmont College in Demorest, where she also received a specialist degree in curriculum and instruction in 2015. She is employed as a first-grade teacher at Gainesville Exploration Academy in Gainesville.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Sandra Edwards of Cornelia and the late Jack Edwards, and Hershel Humphries of Clarkesville and the late Virginia Black.
He is a 2007 graduate of a homeschooling program in Clarkesville. He graduated in 2012 from North Georgia College and State University in Dahlonega with a degree in physical education and a minor in leadership. He is employed as a coach at Team Elite Baseball.
The couple plan to wed Oct. 24, 2015, at Price Mountain Farm in Pendergrass.
