Doug and Christi Blackwell of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Bethany Leigh Blackwell to David Brian Lind, son of Laura and Dale Weekley of Anchorage, Alaska, and Bruce Lind of Flowery Branch.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Lee and Martiele Dunn and William and Francis Blackwell, all of Jasper.

She is a 2006 graduate of West Hall High School in Oakwood. She is pursuing a degree in early childhood education from Gainesville State College in Oakwood.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Russ and Dorothy Lind of Gainesville and Jack and Virginia Seay of Metter.

He is a 2006 graduate of Johnson High School in Oakwood. He is pursuing a degree in welding and joint technology from Gwinnett Technical College in Lawrenceville.

The couple plan to wed Sept. 11, 2010, at Smithgall Arts Center in Gainesville.
