Rodney and Lisa Beck of Flowery Branch announce the engagement of their daughter Melissa Kay Beck to Andrew Russell Chapman, son of Bobby and Toni Chapman of Suwanee.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Elmer and Willene Chastain of Flowery Branch, Raymond and Jean Beck of Dawsonville and Sue Yarborough of Gainesville.

She is a 2003 graduate of Johnson High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2007 from the University of Georgia in Athens with a bachelor's degree in journalism. She is employed as records management clerk with Lanier Technical College in Oakwood.

The groom-elect is the grandson of FrayNed and Marilyn Hill of Nicholson, Faye Chapman of Buford, the late JW Chapman and the late Gerald Tullis.

He is a 2001 graduate of North Gwinnett High School
in Suwanee. He is pursing a bachelor's degree in education from the University of Phoenix in Phoenix, Ariz. He is employed as a quality assurance administrator with The Beam Team in Alpharetta.

The couple plan to wed June 25, 2011, at Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Gainesville.
