Seth Sr. and Karen Barnes of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Talia Ruth Barnes to Joseph Harold Bunting, son of Steve and Lynn Bunting of Carpinteria, Calif.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Samuel and Ruth Starook of Strasburg, Pa., and Asa and Jean Barnes of Silver City, N.M.

She is a 2001 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2005 from Grove City College in Grove City, Pa., with a bachelor's degree in communications. She is employed in marketing with Adventures in Missions in Gainesville.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Joan Price of Atascadero, Calif., Donald Harold of La Mirada, Calif., and the late Oswald and Ellen Bunting.

He is a 2004 graduate of Don Pueblos Senior High School in Goleta, Calif. He graduated in 2007 from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, Calif., with a bachelor's degree in English literature.

The couple plan to wed June 5, 2011 in Gainesville.
