Gary and Regina Reid of Gainesville and Ralph and Dee Baldwin of Apple Valley, Minn., announce the engagement of their daughter Shannon Christel Baldwin to Michael Joseph Magnacca, son of Maria Magnacca of Springfield, Tenn., and Alfred Magnacca Jr. of Madison. Tenn.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Florine White of Roanoke, Ala., Wallace and Barbara Baldwin of Auburn, Ala., and the late Margert Christel Baldwin.

She is a 2002 graduate of North Hall High School. She graduated in 2006 from Brewton-Parker College in Mount Vernon with a secondary broadfield degree in social science education. She will receive a master's degree at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro in December 2010. She is employed as a sixth-grade geography teacher with the Polk County School District in Cedartown.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Angelo Amari of Springfield, Tenn., and the late Maria Amari, and the late Alfred and Theresa Magnacca.

He is a 1995 graduate of Greenbrier High School in Greenbrier, Tenn. He graduated in 2001 from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a bachelor's degree in political science and public administration. He is employed as an account executive by First Data Merchant Services in Atlanta.

The couple plan to wed in January 2011 in Gainesville.
