Paul and Rosalind Alexander of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Carla Suzanne Alexander to Tony Ryan Passmore, son of Frank and Gail Passmore of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Carl and Arena Land and the late Gene and Virginia Alexander.

She is a 2005 graduate of Chestatee High School in Gainesville.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Faye and Shirley "Red" Mattison of Duluth, Dessie Mae Passmore of Gainesville and the late Hubert Junior Passmore.

He is a 2003 graduate of West Hall High School in Oakwood. He graduated in 2005 from Lanier Technical College in Oakwood.

The couple plan to wed Oct. 18, 2008, at Blackshear Place Baptist Church in Flowery Branch.
