The Good News for Gainesville bike ride will be at 9 a.m. Oct. 2 and begins at Riverbend Church in Gainesville. A group of at least 13 local churches are sponsoring the community ride for the second year in a row.

The cost for the ride is $25 if received by September 15 and $35 after the deadline and the day of ride. The cost includes a T-shirt, goody bag and lunch from Johnny’s Barbecue. Also, cyclists have a choice in racing in a 25, 40 or 60-mile ride.

The ride will benefit three local organizations: Good News at Noon, Good News Medical Clinic and Adults Protecting Children. Last year the benefit ride raised more than $4,000 to benefit these charities.
