J.D. "Red" and Jimmie White Wilson celebrated their 60th anniversary on April 11, 2008. The couple and their family celebrated by taking a family trip to Pigeon Forge, Tenn.

The first time Red met Jimmie, she was sitting on a bottom step of a staircase reading the book, "Heidi." He commented on how she needed more light to read by or she would hurt her eyes. They were married on Mill Street in the New Holland community by the late Rev. Harvey Buffington.

The couple have six children, 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
