The Christian music concert planned for Sunday evening at the Georgia Mountains YMCA in Gainesville has been postponed, according to event organizers.
The event, sponsored by Big Top Music and 104.7-FM, was to feature Revive and Mac Powell from Third Day.
Brent Pentenburg, spiritual development coordinator at the YMCA on Howard Road, said presales of tickets, which were $75 per person, had been too low.
Sean Owen, owner of Big Top Music, confirmed that ticket sales had been low, blaming the poor economy on a recent trend of poor ticket sales for concerts. He said scheduling problems and a family emergency also contributed to the decision to postpone the event.
Both Owen and Pentenburg said efforts are being made to reschedule the event in a few months.
Owen said tickets already purchased would be honored at the rescheduled event, and refunds would be given if the event is cancelled.
