Annual Chamber Chase next week

Whether a person is walking for his or her health or supporting a company initiative, many people will take to the streets for the annual Chamber Chase next week.

The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce’s seventh annual Chamber Chase 5K and 2 mile Wellness Walk will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 27, at Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville. Open to all ages, the 5-kilometer run will begin at 6 p.m. with the 2-mile walk starting at 6:10 p.m.

The Chamber Chase is a health care initiative of the Chamber’s Vision 2030 program and seeks to promote individual and corporate wellness. Area companies are encouraged to participate in the run/walk by signing up employees and supporting team spirit.

Registration is $30 and open through Wednesday, March 26. Register at or the Greater Hall Chamber office at 230 E.E. Butler Parkway in Gainesville.

Proceeds from the Chamber Chase will benefit children’s fitness programs in Gainesville and Hall County.

Team Awards will be presented including: Fastest corporate team, fastest community team and fastest CEO. Team spirit awards as well as T-shirt contest awards will be handed out.

For the more serious runners, the overall male and female and top male and female in several age groups will be recognized. Awards will be presented at 7 p.m. All participants receive a complimentary Race Shirt.

Race results will be done electronically by Runner’s Fit, based in Flowery Branch.
