The quintet includes pianist Eric Reed, alto saxophonist Steve Wilson and drummer Carl Allen, as well as newcomer vibraphonist Warren Wolf, one of McBride's former students.

McBride and company will perform from his new album "Kind of Brown," a 10-track album that features the sounds of the recently added quintet.

A bassist extraordinaire, composer and educator, McBride has been a key figure in the jazz scene for 20 years and has worked with some of the biggest names in jazz such as Freddie Hubbard, Sonny Rollins and J.J. Johnson.

Not being limited to jazz, McBride has played with and arranged for Isaac Hayes, Chaka Khan, Natalie Cole, Queen Latifah and the "Godfather of Soul," James Brown.

McBride has appeared on more than 250 albums, including five of his own releases, and has been hailed as "perhaps the most exciting jazz bass player since Ray Brown," in All About Jazz magazine.
