When: 11 a.m. to noon Saturday

Where: Flip Your Dog Yoga Studio, 514 Main St. SW, Gainesville

Cost: $15 donation

Cancer patients are seen as warriors fighting against an invasion of abnormal cells in their own bodies.

Now, the Partnership for Gynecological Cancer Support is inviting the community to strike its own warrior pose from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Area residents can participate in the exercise and support a cancer agency at Flip Your Dog Yoga Studio, 514 Main St. SW, in Gainesville. Merri Benham is the instructor and will show attendees how to incorporate some yoga in their lives. She will modify poses to accommodate those who need special assistance.

Participants should bring their own mat if they have one. But refreshments will be provided and door prizes will be given away.

The yogathon seeks a $15 donation to participate. Proceeds benefit the Partnership for Gynecological Cancer Support, a nonprofit organization that provides financial support for patients of gynecological cancers. Donations are tax deductible.

To reserve a spot and mat, call 770-406-3406.
