Runners will line up to race around Riverside Military Academy for two reasons — to qualify for the Peachtree Road Race and raise money for Challenged Child & Friends in Gainesville.

Hall County runners wanting to qualify for the Peachtree Road Race may do so Sunday in Gainesville.

Challenged Child & Friends is accepting registrations for its 23rd annual 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk scheduled for March 1 at Riverside Military Academy.

“It’s a fun family event for serious runners who are qualifying for Peachtree and those who just want to walk,” Challenged Child & Friends Executive Director Amy Gates said. “Throughout the years, the runners in this area have always supported our race.”

The entry is $30 for individuals and $25 per entrant for teams.

Registration is available at www.challengedchild.org or www.runnersfit.com.

The 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk is set to start at 2 p.m. and the 5K at 2:30 p.m. Registration on race day starts at 1 p.m.

Challenged Child & Friends offers a tailored and integrated experience where children with a variety of developmental delays and disabilities learn and grow in a full inclusion program with children who have typical development. As Caring Committed Advocates For Children and Families, CCAF begins serving children as young as 6 weeks of age up to 6 years with a “whole person” program that uses the coordinated efforts of a professional team with diverse qualifications and experience.
