The Pups in the Park Dog Show will entertain participants with a variety of lively events and activities designed to put a smile on your face as well as Fido’s.

Dawson County service clubs will host the inaugural Pups in the Park Dog Show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at Rock Creek Park in Dawsonville.

A day devoted to dogs and their families, Pups in the Park will offer fun for all ages. Families may bring their dogs to compete in 15 contests including best costume; cutest/ugliest in large, medium and small categories; and best trick. Agility and search-and-rescue demonstrations will be conducted as well.

Food, pet item vendors, arts and crafts and entertainment will be available.

Pups in the Park is a collaboration among the Lions Club, Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club, Dawson County Woman’s Club, Dawson County Chamber of Commerce, Sawnee Mountain Kennel Club and Family Pet Obedience School. The event will benefit the Dawson County Humane Society, a no-kill shelter.
