Students from Habersham Central High School, Rabun County High School and White County High School will perform with the Piedmont Wind Ensemble to create The Piedmont College Wind Ensemble Partnership. The Partnership was created through the Department of Music to connect Piedmont College with surrounding high school instrumentalists.
The ensemble will perform pieces of many different genres, including "The Syncopated Clock" by Leroy Anderson and "Amazing Grace" accompanied by bagpipe soloist William Hunter.
Hunter has been featured with numerous university, community, high school and honor bands and served as a music educator in Georgia for 40 years. He is an expert clarinetist and an arranger of music for pipes and concert band.
The Yonah Brass Ensemble and Piedmont College Percussion Ensemble will also perform during the concert. The Yonah Brass Ensemble is a Northeast Georgia-based brass ensemble directed by Charles Aiken.
