Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club will host a moonlight paddle Friday night on Lake Lanier in Gainesville. A professional instructor will lead all groups.

While most residents spend weekend days on the lake, the Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club is offering a different experience Friday night.

The moonlight paddle will begin at 7:30 p.m. June 17 at 3015 Clarks Bridge Road in Gainesville. A professional instructor will lead all group paddles.

All equipment is provided and is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The paddle costs $20 per person.

All participants must wear a life jacket and asked to arrive by 7:30 p.m. Children younger than 18 must be accompanied by a parent.

Once they are out on the lake, paddlers can enjoy the friendly atmosphere and tranquil scenery while viewing the Lake Lanier Olympic Park at night.
