Organist Stephen C. Price will perform at 4 p.m. Sept. 18 on the Sewell Pipe Organ in the Piedmont College Chapel in Demorest.
The concert, part of the SuperNova Concert Series at Piedmont, is free and open to the public.
Price, a native of Buffalo, N.Y., earned a degree in organ performance from Western Connecticut State University in 2009 and was awarded a Fullbright Scholarship to study in France at the Conservatoire National de Région de Toulouse. He is currently in his second year pursuing a Masters of Music degree in Organ Performance at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in the studio of Janette Fishell.
He has performed recitals at numerous venues in Toulouse, including the Basilica of Saint Sernin and the American Church in Paris. His most recent appearances were held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in New York and a recital sponsored by the Buffalo, N.Y., chapter of the American Guild of Organists at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
In Sunday's concert, Price will perform works by J.S. Bach, including "Toccata and Fugue in F Major," plus works by 19th and 20th century composers Ned Rorem, William Bolcom, Ethel Smyth and Marcel Dupré.
