The Young Harris College Piano Ensemble will make its performance debut at 3 p.m. Oct. 30 in Glenn Auditorium of the Clegg Fine Arts Building on the Young Harris campus.

Senior music major Raquel Jasso, a North Hall High School graduate, is one of nine inaugural members of the group.

The ensemble will perform works for piano duet, ranging from the classical, romantic and 20th century periods. Students will perform works by well-known composers including Franz Schubert, Moritz Moszkowski, Claude Debussy and George Gershwin.

The Piano Ensemble is directed by the associate vice president for Academic Affairs and professor of music, Dr. Keith DeFoor, and adjunct instructor of music and staff cccompanist Cynthia DeFoor.

"This is YHC's very first student piano ensemble concert, and it is truly a banner year for piano with nine principles," Cynthia DeFoor said. "This will be an ensemble opportunity for our students to perform with other pianists on their typically solo instrument."

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call the Young Harris College Division of Fine Arts at 706-379-5182.
